Stock futures point higher as Trump says China wants to return to negotiating table

Stock-index futures moved early higher Monday, pointing to a partial rebound for Wall Street from Friday’s sharp losses, after President Donald Trump said China wants to return to the negotiating table, stoking hopes for a de-escalation of rhetoric after the trade war between the two countries intensified at the end of last week.

How are the major benchmarks performing?

Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average YMU19, +0.63% rose 237 points, or 0.9%, to 25,905, while S&P 500 futures ESU19, +0.43% gained 20.2 points, or 0.7%, to 2,875.75. Nasdaq-100 futures NQU19, +0.57% were up 71 points, or 0.9%, to 7,574.
