U.S. stocks seem poised to fall Friday, as the global equity retreat fueled by the mounting currency crisis in Turkey raises the alarm for possible contagion into other markets,

The U.S. dollar DXY, +0.37% sought as a haven relative to other currencies, muscled to its firmest level in nearly a year against major rivals.

Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average YMU8, -0.38% fell 93 points or 0.4%, while futures on the S&P 500 ESU8, -0.42% shed over 11 points, or 0.4%, and on the Nasdaq-100 NQU8, -0.52% gave up 34 points, or 0.5%.
