World stocks fall as relief over US-Canada deal fades

World markets declined Tuesday as investors took stock of the standstill in U.S. trade negotiations with China, despite a fresh deal on North American trade.

KEEPING SCORE: In Europe, Germany’s DAX lost 1.0 percent to 12,219.67 and the CAC 40 in France dropped 1.2 percent to 5,441.26. Britain’s FTSE 100 fell 0.6 percent to 7,447.36. Wall Street was set to open slightly lower. Dow futures shed 0.4 percent to 26,562.00. The broader S&P 500 futures was down 0.4 percent at 2,919.70.
