Treasury yields edge lower ahead of Fed meeting

Treasury yields struggled for direction on Tuesday before a Federal Reserve meeting that could show policy makers scaling back rate-hike projections amid investor skepticism the central bank can push forward with further hikes in 2019.

The 10-year Treasury note yield TMUBMUSD10Y, +0.55% was mostly unchanged at 2.601%. The 2-year note yield TMUBMUSD02Y, +0.33% was down 0.6 basis point to 2.450%, while the 30-year bond yield TMUBMUSD30Y, +0.60% traded up 0.7 basis point to 3.017%. Bond prices move inversely to yields.
