Google shelling out $1 billion just to stay on Apple’s iPhone: report

Google Inc. has forked a ten-figure amount over to keep its search engine running on Apple Inc.’s iPhone.

Google, now called Alphabet Inc. GOOG, +1.17% GOOGL, +1.13% paid $1 billion to Apple AAPL, +2.06%  in 2014, according to court documents seen by Bloomberg News. The transcripts were from court proceedings of Oracle Corp.’s ORCL, +0.53%long-running copyright lawsuit against Google.
