Stock-index futures were up sharply Friday morning, possibly setting the stage for a rally for markets to end the week, after a treatment for the deadly COVID-19 pandemic that has infected more than 2 million people world-wide was reported to show early signs of promise.
Support was also attributed to guidelines issued by the Trump administration that would allow the gradual restart of the U.S. economy.
