Treasury yields struggle for direction in holiday-thinned trading

U.S. Treasury yields were mostly unchanged on Tuesday as investors awaited an auction for government debt later in the morning.

Trading in the bond-market will end at 2 p.m. ET based on recommendations from the Securities Industry Financial Market Association, and will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Wednesday. European government bond markets were also closed on Tuesday.

What are Treasurys’ doing?

The 10-year Treasury note yield TMUBMUSD10Y, +0.51% was down 0.6 basis point to 1.929%, after closing at its highest levels in more than 5 months on Monday. T the 2-year note rate TMUBMUSD02Y, +0.86% edged 0.6 basis point up to 1.663%. The 30-year bond yield TMUBMUSD30Y, +0.32% fell 0.8 basis point to 2.354%.
