U.S. stocks steady despite Shanghai selloff

U.S. stocks are braving a selloff in Shanghai and showing resilience Thursday as Wall Street looks to build on yesterday’s big rebound rally that wiped out big losses and allowed stocks to finish the day up.

Despite a 6.4% drop in shares that trade in mainland China, in pre-market trading 60 minutes before the opening bell the Dow Jones industrial average was trading unchanged. Both the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index and Nasdaq composite were also trading flat in pre-market futures trading.
