Oil higher as rising U.S.-Iran tensions stoke worries over flow of crude

Oil futures remained on track for a steep weekly fall but traded higher early Friday, a day after the U.S. said it shot down an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz, stoking worries that rising tensions between Washington and Tehran could disrupt the global flow of crude.

But concerns over rising global supplies and demand prospects were expected to keep a lid on the rebound, analysts said.
